I, myself, made that same mistake in my early years of bodybuilding. I assumed that, as long as I ate “clean” foods like chicken breasts, rice, and vegetables, I could eat as much as I wanted. I figured that all I had to do was stay away from the pizza, desserts, and all the other junk food.
Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!
The basic rule when trying to lose body fat is eating fewer calories than burn each day. And, it doesn’t matter how healthy those calories are. It sounds very simple but the importance is often minimized by men who are conscious about the types of food they eat.
Of course, this becomes a little more complex when you are trying to build muscle mass at the same time. You never want to reduce your caloric intake too drastically.
